Our famous 1970 Bedford J1 Food Truck is available for private hire for weddings, functions and events within Auckland. We offer a variety of menus, both canapé style and truck style, and can cater for anywhere between 50-250 people. What are the costs to hire the truck?

We have a one off hire fee of $2000 to cover the truck, staff, vehicle and administration costs. Food and beverage is charged additional on top of this with a minimum of 50 people.


‘Classic’ option: $20 per person or the ‘Cocktail’ option: $35 per person

Will you come to my work place, school fair, market day, festival or event and sell food?

The Food Truck is for private hire only but we’re happy to consider large events where there are no vendor fees.

What is required to secure a booking?

A $500 deposit is required to confirm your booking. This is refundable up until 7 days before your event.

Are you self-sufficient or do you require power?

We are fully self sufficient for up to 4 hours, however 32 Amp single phase or standard 10Amp house power is appreciated where possible. We have our own power adapters and cables.

How far do you travel?

Due to the age of the truck and it’s original engine we only take bookings within Auckland. If your location is out in greater Auckland or in the country it may be too far, just ask us and we’ll let you know.

Can I customize my menu?

Absolutely! It’s your day, we’re here to help you achieve your vision so just let us know what you have in mind.

How long is a booking and what is included?

The booking fee includes the truck, travel, three staff and a two-hour food service over lunch or dinner. This is normally plenty of time, but we can extend the hours and staff for a small fee if required. We require one-hour to set up and 45 minutes to clean down, pack up and depart. Food and beverage is charged additional at an agreed per head rate.

Do you operate on Public Holidays and is there an additional charge?

We operate on all public holidays but there is a 15% surcharge to cover the additional staff costs.

Do you sell alcohol from your truck?

We are not permitted to run a cash bar, however we do hold a catering license that allows us to include alcoholic beverages for weddings or corporate event packages. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis at our Event Manager’s discretion.

What if I really want to book the truck out of Auckland, will you consider it?

Transporting the truck out of Auckland will require additional fees to cover car transporter costs (basically tow truck fees) and additional staff and accommodation costs.
